The Museums of Historic Hopkinsville-Christian County celebrates Women’s History Month at our next History on Tap on Thursday, March 28 at 6:30pm at Hopkinsville Brewing Company.
In 1896 following the death of her mother, seven-year-old Louise Jones became one of the wealthiest people in Christian County. Her father Lucian Jones, the first president of the City Bank of Hopkinsville, had already passed away – before his little daughter’s second birthday. As the family’s sole heir, the young orphan inherited a great estate and led a fascinating life. Museum Director Alissa Keller will explore the story of this local woman in all of its beauty and tragedy.
