GANDER MEMORIAL CEREMONY – DECEMBER 12, 2026 The Southwestern Kentucky Military Affairs Committee invites our community to join us as we gather to remember and honor the 248 Soldiers of the 101st Airborne Division and eight crew members who lost their lives in the tragic Gander aircraft crash on December 12, 1985, while returning home from a peacekeeping mission in the Sinai Peninsula.
This tragedy forever changed the lives of families, fellow soldiers, and the Fort Campbell community. Nearly four decades later, we continue to honor their sacrifice and ensure that their memory is never forgotten.
We invite veterans, active-duty service members, military families, community leaders, and the general public to stand with us as we pay tribute to these American heroes.
